Tuesday crash in Raytown claims life of man

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man died this afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Raytown.

The wreck happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Raytown Road and Gregory Boulevard.

Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the deceased driver as Donald Hicks.

Hicks, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, crossed a center median, hitting a tree, and the tree hit a 2013 Ford Fusion. Hicks then entered the northbound lane of Raytown Road, hitting a 2013 Toyota Camry.

The report also stated that Hicks “traveled off the east side of the roadway, striking a traffic light post.”

Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene. The other drivers suffered minor injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was brought in to conduct the investigation.
