Republic, MO man sentenced to 10 years in prison after multiple DWI charges

A man from Republic, MO who pleaded guilty to three DWI charges, including one that was reduced from DWI in the death of another has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

According to online court records, Daniel Thomas McLeod pleaded guilty to charges of a habitual DWI, DWI with serious physical injury and DWI with a person under the age of 17 in the vehicle.

He was sentenced to 10 years on the first charge, seven years on the second and one year on the third, but the terms are to be served concurrently.

McLeod was arrested after a crash in May 2017 that killed his passenger, 25-year-old Shane House of Springfield, after the car went of the road and flipped. Two others in the vehicle were injured.
