Car accident kills both drivers involved

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person is dead following a crash Wednesday in Kansas City, Missouri.

The crash occurred around 1 p.m. in the area of East 77th Street and Holmes Road.

Kansas City, Missouri, police said that a gray Honda Accord traveling westbound on East 77th Street failed to stop at a stop sign. The Honda Accord then collided with a Jeep Wrangler that was heading north on Holmes Road.

“The impact from the Honda caused the Wrangler to partially overturn and roll towards the left into the path of a white Ford cargo van that was traveling south on Holmes,” KCPD said in a news release. “The driver of the Jeep Wrangler was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the collision.”

The drivers of the Honda and Ford refused treatment.

Police said they are investigating “possible driver impairment.”
