KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The man accused of driving drunk in a head-on crash that killed an elderly couple in May 2018 was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison.

Zachary St. George entered an Alford plea in Cass County in July, meaning that he did not admit guilt but acknowledged prosecutors had sufficient evidence for a conviction.

On May 15, 2018, St. George allegedly drove under the influence, causing a wreck near Missouri 150 and Holmes Road in Cass County.

John Henning, 80, and his wife, Nancy Henning, 78, were killed when St. George struck their vehicle head-on.
